The Nari Shakti Doot app was one of the main ways women joined the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana when the scheme opened, but it can no longer be used to make a new application. This site is an independent explainer with no government connection, so any sign-in or application step happens only in the official app or on the official portal, never through us.

Below we explain what the app did, what is known about its role now, and how to keep your phone and your Aadhaar safe from copycat apps. For installment news, the update box above is kept current.

What the Nari Shakti Doot app was used for

When the Ladki Bahin Yojana launched, the state allowed women to register in several ways. One was the website, another was offline forms through the anganwadi and service centres, and a third was the Nari Shakti Doot app on a smartphone. Through the app, an application could be filled in and submitted from a phone, without a trip to an office.

That convenience is why so many people still search for the ladki bahin yojana app today, even though the registration stage is over. Knowing what the app did helps you understand where your own application came from.

Nari Shakti Doot app status right now

Here is what our sources say, and how firm each point is:

  • New applications through the app are closed. Secondary information sites report this, and it matches the WCD department's clarification that no new application process has started anywhere.
  • Status checks: a news report in March this year still mentioned the app as a way to check application status.
  • Not officially confirmed: we could not find an official statement describing exactly what the app does now. Treat its current role as uncertain.

If the app opens on your phone and shows your application, that is fine to use for viewing. If it asks you to make a new application or pay money, stop.

Is there a separate Ladki Bahin Yojana app?

Common searches include majhi ladki bahin yojana app, the ladki bahini yojana app or simply an app for ladki bahin yojana. In the sources we rely on, the only app tied to the scheme is Nari Shakti Doot. We have not seen any official "Ladki Bahin app" by another name.

So if someone sends you a different app and says it is the new Ladki Bahin app, be very careful. Registration has ended, the Rs 2,100 hike is not real, and the WCD department has rejected claims that sign-ups or e-KYC are open again. A new app promising any of these is a warning sign.

Checking status without the app

You do not need the app to know where you stand. Using ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in, the state portal, earlier applicants sign in with their mobile number, password and captcha and view their past applications. The portal also lists selected applicants, and its e-KYC page shows "e-KYC already completed" once an Aadhaar number with finished e-KYC is typed in.

Without a smartphone, ask your anganwadi worker, or visit an Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra or the ward office, where beneficiary lists can be seen. To see whether money actually reached you, check your bank SMS or passbook. Our status check guide explains each method.

What the app cannot do for you now

  • It cannot take a new application. Registration is closed everywhere.
  • It cannot reopen e-KYC. The last e-KYC window has ended. e-KYC (identity verification through Aadhaar) was done on the official portal, and it has to be repeated every year when a window opens.
  • It cannot fix bank problems. If your account is not Aadhaar-seeded for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), only your bank branch can fix that.
  • It cannot release stopped payments. For that you need the grievance route described on our helpline page.

Staying safe from fake Nari Shakti Doot app copies

Copycat apps and links are a real risk with any popular scheme. Follow these simple rules:

  1. Do not install an app from a file someone sends you on WhatsApp, Telegram or by SMS. Such files can carry harmful software that reads your messages, including bank OTPs.
  2. Do not tap "new registration" links in forwards. The department has said these are fake.
  3. Never tell your OTP to anyone, even someone who says they are calling from the government.
  4. Do not pay any agent to "activate" your app or your benefit. The scheme has no such fee.
  5. If something looks wrong, call the women's helpline 181 or ask at your anganwadi.

Used the Nari Shakti Doot app to apply?

Keep the mobile number you used active, because SMS updates and OTPs go to it. Confirm that the account receiving the money belongs to you alone and carries an Aadhaar link. If your payments stopped, the common reasons are incomplete e-KYC, an incorrect reply to one of the e-KYC declarations, or the verification of income and family rules. For each cause, read the payment not received page, and the eligibility page lists the rules.

Questions people ask

Does the Nari Shakti Doot app still accept new Ladki Bahin applications?

No. The app no longer takes applications, and the WCD department says no new application process exists. The app was used for applications only when registration was open.

Does the Nari Shakti Doot app show application status?

A news report in March this year mentioned the app for status checks, but its current role has not been officially confirmed. The official portal and the anganwadi are the reliable ways to check.

Is there a new Ladki Bahin Yojana app?

We have not seen any official app other than Nari Shakti Doot linked to the scheme. Treat any other app claiming to be the new Ladki Bahin app as suspicious.

Someone sent me the app as a file on WhatsApp. Should I install it?

No. App files shared on chat can be harmful and may read your OTPs. Delete the file and do not share any details.

Can I do e-KYC on the app?

At present there is no open e-KYC window. When it was open, e-KYC was done on the official portal's e-KYC page.
