The ladki bahin yojana documents list is short, but each paper has an alternative if you do not have the main one, and that is where most confusion comes from. We publish this guide independently of the government, and we never collect papers: documents go only to the official portal or to your anganwadi or a recognised centre.
New registrations are closed at the moment, so this page is mostly useful if you want to understand what was checked in your past application, or keep your papers ready for a correction, a grievance or the yearly e-KYC. Payment updates sit in the status box above, which we refresh when an installment is confirmed.

Aadhaar and the bank account
Aadhaar is the base of the whole scheme. The account has to be yours alone, tied to your Aadhaar number and switched on for DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer, the system that sends government money straight to your account). This linking is often called Aadhaar seeding.
Many women finished every other step but still did not receive money because the account was not seeded with Aadhaar and the NPCI mapper. If this is your problem, visit your branch and ask them to seed Aadhaar for DBT. Our payment not received page covers this in detail.
Domicile certificate and its alternatives
You need to show that you live in Maharashtra. The usual proof is a domicile certificate. If you do not have one, any one of the following is accepted instead:
- a ration card from 15 years ago;
- a voter ID from 15 years ago;
- a school leaving certificate;
- a birth certificate.
Women born outside Maharashtra
A woman born in another state who married a Maharashtra resident can use her husband's documents: his birth certificate, school leaving certificate or domicile certificate. She does not need a Maharashtra certificate in her own name.
Income certificate: when you need it and when you do not
The family income limit is Rs 2.5 lakh a year. The ration card colour decides whether you have to prove it separately:
- Yellow or orange ration card: no income certificate needed. The card itself places the family in a lower income group.
- White ration card: income certificate needed.
- No ration card: income certificate needed.
Remember that the income rule is checked again later. Roughly 16 lakh beneficiaries lost the benefit during verification because household earnings crossed Rs 2.5 lakh, so the certificate must show real income.
Newly married women
A newly married woman often has her name on her parents' ration card and not yet on her husband's. In that case she can use her marriage certificate together with her husband's ration card. Once her name is added to the new ration card, keep a copy of that too, because it helps later at the anganwadi or the tehsil office if a correction is ever needed.
Keep the household cap in mind: there can be just one married beneficiary and one unmarried beneficiary per home, so a new daughter-in-law may be left out if another married woman there already receives it.
Documents for e-KYC
e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) is an identity check based on Aadhaar. All beneficiaries must complete it, and it must be done again each year. For it you need:
- Your own Aadhaar, with an active mobile number linked to it, because the OTP (one-time password) goes to that number.
- Your husband's or father's Aadhaar. The system uses it to verify household earnings and whether anyone holds a government job.
If a widow or divorcee cannot produce either Aadhaar, she submits proof of her situation instead: her late husband's death certificate, or the divorce decree carrying the court's stamp. These go to the WCD officer in her district. The current e-KYC window is closed; see our e-KYC guide for what that means.
Same list in Marathi, Hindi and online
People search for this in many ways, such as the majhi ladki bahin yojana documents list in Marathi or in Hindi, the ladki bahini yojana online apply document list or a majhi ladki behan yojana document new update. The papers are the same in every case. No fresh documents update exists: the WCD department clarified that no new website or application process has been launched.
Our Marathi page gives the ladki bahin yojana documents in Marathi along with the rest of the scheme.
Keeping your documents safe
Never send photos of your Aadhaar, bank passbook or ration card to strangers on WhatsApp, and never read out an OTP to a caller, whoever they claim to be. Fake messages claiming that registration or e-KYC has reopened have asked women for OTPs and money. If someone at a centre asks for a fee to process your papers, do not pay. For real problems, call the official women's helpline 181 or go to your anganwadi; see our helpline page.
